Nov Whitetail hunt - Utah. USA
I have hunted with a just few outfitter's before. But by far Alberta Dark Horn was the best by a long ways. For me it's hard to go on guided hunts because of my income. I looked hard for a quality Canada whitetail hunt. I went on Alberta whitetail hunt 15 years ago. I remember very well being at the airport flying home. There was a bunch of guys there flying home from their hunt. I went and talk to all of them. 90% of them where pissed off with there guides. Said they just dropped them off at there stands and picked them up, seeing hardly any deer. So picking my next hunt was scary. I called Dominic Jackson on the phone. I was so impressed with their operation. I called the references and booked the hunt. It took me 3 yrs to save to go on this hunt, so it was hard to part with the money. This hunt was the best hunt I have ever been on. The guides where top of the class. Everyone of them. They scout constantly, and know almost every buck out there. The Cooks are indescribable awesome. I felt so guilty at dinner. It was like I was at the finest restaurant in town. Not having my wife with me. The housing was awesome. We all had our own room, with bath & shower. Anyway I give them A+ for the hunt in general. The staff and all of the other hunters became family. It is a tough cold hunt. You have to be mentally prepared for long cold sits. I would recommend this hunt to anyone that wants a chance a a true Northern giant. I will never forget it, and I hope I will be back.

If your looking for the “next level” of whitetail then this is the place to go. Alberta Dark Horn's crew know big whitetails and how to hunt them. They truly only want to harvest big deer. Food and accommodations are top notch. I can’t wait to go back!

"Another Successful Hunt" I just had to come back and hunt with Alberta Dark Horn once again for a whitetail hunt this time. Just three weeks prior to this hunt, I chose to go whitetail hunting with another outfitter in Alberta because that outfitter was an old friend. However, I came home without filling my tag. The Guys reached out to me and invited me back to Alberta in an effort to get me a beautiful whitetail. Well, the picture shows the result! If it wasn't for the professional services of Alberta Dark Horn I wouldn't have been successful ! So, bottom line guys... if you want the most hard working, knowledgeable, organized and professional outfitter in Alberta then you should definitely call ADH. “One Of The Best and Most Exhilarating Hunts I’ve Ever Experienced” – Thank you so much to Dominic Jackson, Rob Brown and my guide Darren Wanchuk for a terrific and outstanding wolf hunt. Over fifty-three years of my life, I have traveled and hunted all over North America while hunting with many outfitters for many different species of animals. This outfitting company is one of the BEST ! Evidence clearly showed how hard Alberta Dark Horn did with their “do diligences” regarding pre-season scouting to confirm all bait sites were placed in areas where populations of wolves were present. Using fresh bait to potentially lure wolves into the area. Followed up with trail game cameras to confirm activity at each bait site. Properly equipped such as; snowmobiles, tracked side-by-side ATVs, multiple 4 x 4 trucks and trailers. All of these things take a lot of “time and expense” on the behalf of a "good outfitter" by being properly prepared. It also confirms how “hard they really worked” in wanting you to be successful. These are the signs of an outfitter who really CARES about increasing your chances of success! Lets face it, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to hunting whether tagging out or not, but having an outfitter working this hard makes a huge difference in the potential chance of you filling your tag ! So, if your looking for an outfitter and guide service that is as interested in you being successful then look no further! They’ll do you right because they sure did for me !!!!! I booked a whitetail hunt with Dom, Rob and the guys. This was my first trip with an outfitter and i must say it was everything I dreamed of and more. Great group of guys with an awesome set up, can't wait to go back and highly recommend these guys!

Looking back at my whitetail hunt with Alberta Dark Horn, The food is home cooked and tasty, the rooms are clean, warm and quiet. I was fortunate enough to harvest a trophy of a life time! I’ve experienced a lot of ground shrinkage over the years, 1st time to experience the opposite! Great hunt with no hiccups.
November 2020 - Whitetail Hunt
This fall was the second time this year I’ve used ADH for a hunt. January I was in Northern Alberta for a wolf hunt, I didn’t have success in harvesting an animal but what I did get was one hell of an outfitter. Rob and Dom were able to get me into a whitetail hunt last minute this year for what I consider to be a dream hunt of the monster Alberta whitetail. My hunt started out fast and with a bang, 4 hours in on my first day I tagged out on a big dark antlered Alberta buck. Rob, Dom and my guide Tom went out of their way to ensure I had an opportunity to get the buck of a lifetime. Seeing first hand how much time and effort they put in, to learn the animals habits is incredible. Nothing in hunting is guaranteed but you won’t find an outfitter that will give you better chance at filling a tag then ADH. Camp accommodations, food and all around experience is second to none. I wouldn’t use anyone else when it comes to outfitting, if ADH doesn’t offer a hunt you’re looking for I’m sure Rob or Dom would be able to recommend someone and point you in the right direction. Honesty and integrity is becoming hard to find nowadays and to put it bluntly I’ve already got two more hunts booked for 2020 and I’m counting down the days. I would highly recommend ADH, you won’t be disappointed!
Fall 2017-19 - Yukon Territory, Canada
I have been on several whitetail deer and moose hunts with Alberta Dark Horn and I can honestly say they are top-notch! Great camp, excellent guides and the quality of the game is exceptional. I took my personal best whitetail deer and Western Canada moose with these guys and I’m not done yet! I have been fortunate to have hunted all over the world and this outfit ranks among the very best. Don’t look any further...book with these guys now. JE
Fall 2019 - Lewiston, ID
I was referred to Dom and Rob thru a hunting broker a few years ago. A friend and I hunted with them in 2017 for moose and whitetail. My buddy tagged both but unfortunately I didn't pull the trigger that trip. But most definitely NOT from a lack of effort on the outfitters part. They busted their asses to get me on game but due to weather it just wasn't in the cards. They did invite me back for what I refer to as my REDEMPTION HUNT within 3 years. 2019 the same buddy and I returned, this time for a 9 day hunt and once again Alberta Dark Horn did not disappoint. From the great lodging, the amazing food, gut busting commendatory and 110% effort on the guides part, my experience was once again top notch. These guys do everything in their power (legally of course) to get you on true quality game. I chose to take an average buck to focus on moose but I definitely had opportunities at some true giants. I just couldn't make it happen. My guide, Darren, did more in the following days to get me on a mature bull moose than I could have ever expected. Day 8 we laid the smack down a mature old bull. I've hunted with several outfitters around the country and Africa, I can say with absolute certainty that Alberta Dark Horn is one of the best at all aspects. You wont be disappointed! (Oh, and Bill's buck is real. I actually held that amazing rack in my own hands. Sorry for the drool marks Bill!)
Fall 2020 -
All I can say is wow! I hunted for the first time in Alberta Nov 10th through the 20th for whitetail looking for a buck of a lifetime and man did these guys get me on a great deer. These guys busted their hump to get us in a position to harvest a mature whitetail. These guys know where the giants live you just have to put the time in and shoot straight. Listen to your guides!!! They know what they are talking about. Food and accommodations were great. It’s really cool when your guide and the owners of the outfit are just as excited as you are about killing a trophy! Thank you guys for putting me on a Canadian giant with double drop tines!
